Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and for how long — with the actual names, so you can check. You can change your choices at any time.

01The short version
This site works without any optional cookies. We store three strictly necessary things — your theme, your cookie choice, and an admin sign-in token that ordinary visitors never get. Nothing else is stored unless you say yes.
We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means analytics and advertising storage start in a denied state and stay there until you grant them. Rejecting is one click, in the same place and the same size as accepting.
03Strictly necessary — always active
These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot do what you asked without them. They set no advertising identifier and are not shared with anyone.
| Name | Type | What it does | Kept for | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| techavtar.consent | Local storage | Records your cookie choices and when you made them, so we do not ask again on every page and can show that consent was given. | 12 months, then we ask again | Techavtar |
| theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Set only when you use the theme switch. | Until you clear it | Techavtar |
| techavtar.attribution | Session storage | If you arrive from an advertisement or a link someone shared, this remembers which one, so that when you send us an enquiry we can tell what brought you here. It holds no personal data and is cleared when you close the tab. | Until you close the tab | Techavtar |
| sb-<project>-auth-token | Local storage | Keeps an administrator signed in to the content management area at /admin. Never set for ordinary visitors. | Until sign-out or expiry (1 hour, auto-renewed while active) | Supabase |
04Analytics — only with your consent
Set only if you accept analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, with IP addresses shortened by Google before storage and Google Signals and advertising features turned off.
| Name | Type | What it does | Kept for | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_<container-id> | Cookie | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count visits and see which pages get used. Not used to identify you personally. | Up to 24 months | Google Analytics 4 |
05Marketing — only with your consent
Set only if you accept marketing. These let us see whether an advertisement led to an enquiry and let advertising platforms show you our ads elsewhere.
| Name | Type | What it does | Kept for | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Cookie | Attributes an enquiry to the advertisement that led to it, so we can tell which campaigns work. | Up to 90 days | Google Ads |
06What we do not use
Worth stating explicitly, because so many policies claim otherwise by copying a template. This site does not load:
- Session recording or heatmap tools such as Hotjar, Clarity or FullStory
- The Meta (Facebook) pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or TikTok pixel
- Third-party chat widgets or comment systems
- Google Fonts from Google's servers — our fonts are self-hosted, so your IP address is never sent to Google to render a page
- Any cross-site advertising network of our own
07Changing your mind
Withdrawing consent has to be as easy as giving it, so there is a Cookie settings control in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored for twelve months, after which we ask again.
- Strictly necessary (always on): Needed for the site to work: remembering your light or dark theme choice, keeping this cookie decision, and signing in to the admin area. No analytics or advertising use.
- Analytics: Lets us count visits and see which pages are useful, so we know what to improve. Aggregated — we do not use it to identify you.
- Marketing: Measures whether an ad led to an enquiry, and lets advertising platforms show you our ads elsewhere.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "do not sell or share" or global privacy control signal. Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop the theme switch and the admin area from working.
